No love lost on February tornadoes

And there are specific locations where the storms typically form. While they tend to occur in the Gulf Coast states, they can reach all the way to the Ohio Valley.Texas and Mississippi lead the pack, with 190 February touchdowns apiece reported between 1950 and 2014, according to records available through the Storm Prediction Center. Florida is next, with 177 touchdowns, followed by Alabama with 131 and Louisiana with 122.Fifteen states and the District of Columbia have not had a February tornado touchdown reported in modern history. These include New England, the northern Plains, and parts of the mountain west.
