We are also there to learn more about disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery so we can serve you better. We are just a handful of folks among the 1,000 participants, but we are as serious about your safety — and as devoted to it — as the best of them. Read our customer testimonials to find out just how seriously Survive-a-Storm Shelters is about your family’s safety. It’s easy to see why Oklahoma City is the site of the fourth annual summit. Oklahoma is no stranger to tornadoes. It’s located in the heart of “Tornado Alley,” and Oklahoma City suburbs Moore and El Reno were raked by tornadoes during a two-week period in 2013.The timing of the Oklahoma City Summit couldn’t be better. It comes one week before the state’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week, March 1-7. Ohio, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois and Arkansas have also marked next week as a time to either prepare for or increase awareness of severe weather. The leading manufacturer and distributor of prefabricated steel above ground and below ground tornado shelters, and community safe rooms.
