- Big Box Home Improvement Stores
We’ve been scratching our heads for awhile trying to figure out why big box home improvement stores such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, Menard’s, and Tractor Supply Company don’t sell storm shelters or safe rooms. It seems to us that it would be a great fit for one of these chains to sell storm shelters. Their customers are already intent on improving their homes and living spaces, and we suspect that many of those same customers would also see the value in owning an underground storm shelter or above ground safe room. Getting one of these stores on board to sell tornado shelters would also do quite a bit to bring the storm shelter industry into the mainstream.
Survive-a-Storm Shelters has begun conversations with several big box retail chains, and we are hopeful that these conversations will bear fruit. Storm shelters are still somewhat marginalized, with some people holding the misconception that only a kook would own such a thing. The reality, though, is that our weather is becoming less-and-less stable, and violent wind storms are here to stay. That’s why you should consider owning a storm shelter if you live in a high risk area.
Hopefully our conversations with big box retail chains will bear fruit and you’ll soon be able to shop for a storm shelter, safe room, or panic room right around the corner from your neighborhood.
